Built to own the category.

Playable is the world's first interactive media network. We started with a party game and ended up building identity infrastructure for the future of marketing.

How we got here.

Nate Fox took operational control of Bad Cards in 2024 and grew the platform from 408K to 2.7M users in one year with zero paid marketing. What started as a party card game turned out to be something much bigger: a system for capturing verified, behavior-linked identity through gameplay at scale.

That insight became Playable. The vision was always there: that the future of marketing, fan engagement, and community building would be participatory rather than interruptive. Bad Cards proved the model. Now we are building the infrastructure that scales it across every vertical, platform, and audience.

The team.

Nate Fox

Founder and CEO

Took over Bad Cards in 2024 and grew it from 408K to 2.7M users in a single year with zero paid marketing. Today it is 10M+ lifetime players and 300K monthly across two properties, all organic. Built the identity and measurement architecture that turns gameplay into structured preference data, and filed two patents on it. Previously led growth and product at Google, Lyft, and Robinhood, where he ran social and content through the GameStop crisis.

Fred Clarke

Co-Founder and CPO

Built multi-model AI orchestration inside Alexa in 2017, running competing models against each other to decide the next best step in a conversation. Shipped a second system that let Alexa read customer intent from both inside and outside the active skill. He was doing preference-based model routing at production scale years before it was a category. 25+ years in content strategy and scale operations across Amazon and Microsoft.

Patent-Pending Architecture

The system is defensible.

Playable has filed provisional patent applications covering the core systems that power the platform. These are not trivial software patents. They cover the fundamental mechanics of how behavioral data is captured, when consent is requested, and how fragmented identities are resolved into persistent profiles.

State-Aware Consent Orchestration

A system for dynamically determining when and how to request user consent based on real-time behavioral and engagement signals. The ask happens at exactly the right moment: not on a static form.

Progressive Identity Resolution

A system for constructing and refining user identity across anonymous and authenticated states. Anonymous behavior captured before login merges with verified identity after conversion. Nothing is ever lost.
